  2. Hi All, I am making some space in my garage so I am putting up for sale a pair of Nissan OEM 16" rims with new tyres. They have come off my 1998 200SX S14A but will also fit an R33 Skyline. I have had these as spares for many years and have always kept in my garage so they have had very minimal use. They have some cosmetic scratches on the face of the rims and minor gutter rash but are in otherwise in great condition. The tyres are new Sumitomo's with the following dimensions 205/50ZR16 87W. I am looking for $60 and a local pickup from the Monash, Canberra area. Please note that I only have two rims for sale. If you are interested please get in touch. Cheers Kirk
  3. Hi, As the topic suggests I'm in the market for a S14a manual. Must be a series 2 as i like the style & a few other things that make it suitable for my project. I'm building a race car & my sponsors want me to buy as stock as possible, must be accident free, so we can further develop some of their great products. Colours are open but my preference is Red. Would consider a auto car but would have to be cheap as i'd have to convert it. I'm not looking for someones immaculate 40,000klm $10k car, I'm happy with a average interior, average ext (as long as a really good detail will bring the paint back) and as long as it's straight/accident free, runs well & has good compression & can pass a safety cert with limited cash thrown at it. So yes I'm talking about cars between $5 - $8k. I'm located in Brisbane and you must be able to assist in getting your car to Keeley Motorsport in Browns plains for a full inspection. I will pay for the inspection. I will not buy a car without a full inspection from Keeley Motorsport, this is mandatory. If he says it's the right car, i'll buy it there on the spot. Email what you have to James@silviacopkits.com Cheers, James
  4. Hi, I've been racing my Evo 9 in TA for the past year and now i want a S14a so i can go & do some door to door racing in Outlaw Sports Sedans. I also build COP kits for Evo's, look me up at ECK Performance Ignitions, and as soon as i have a 200Sx I'll be building COP kits for S13/14 SR20Det & will track test all my products before i hit the market with them. S15 will follow soon after. Look forward to talking & possibly becoming a vendor at a later stage. Cheers, James

  6. Highly modified and Clean S14a

Hi everyone, for sale is my pride and joy i've owned for 5 years and modified with quality parts and done properly. Im negotiable on price but willing to do straight swap in particular a 2007-2008 Mazda 3 SP23 hatch auto(not red) and acceptable km. Reason for selling is that the call of family has come and i cant exactly transport a pregnant missus or baby in a bumpy street slider. I've also have an add on carsales so all the details are there At least take the time to post the details here, not just a link to an external site. Thank you.
  7. Hey guys! This is a hard thing to do as the S14 was my absolute dream car but I have to post it up for sale as my new job is 6 days a week and I just won’t be able to enjoy it (that and the fact I built it whilst on my P’s and still haven’t been able to drive it on the road and can’t for over another year!). Purchased in March 2014 the car was jungle green and basically stock. Car had 173,000 genuine kms on the car and currently sits at about 175,000km. I dreamed about this car for so long that I did every modification I wanted to (within my budget) to get it to where I wanted it to be. All mods were new and installed between March 2014 and September 2014. Respray took place late June 2014 to Nissan Gun Metallic Grey (KAD paint code). Car’s mods include: Engine: Front Mount Intercooler GK Tech Dump Pipe Blitz Nur Spec Exhaust (with silencer) Boost Tee (adjustable boost) Suspension / Rims / Brakes : AME TM02 Rims purchased new Front 18x9.5+22 with 235/40/18 Federal 595 Rear 18x10.5+22 with 265/35/18 Federal 595 Shockworks Suspension Ikeya Formula Camber, Toe and Tractions arms DBA Slotted Rotors front and rear (New July 2014) Project Mu HC+ Brake pads all round (New July 2014) GK Tech extended studs and wheel nuts Exterior: JDM S14A Front Bar JDM S14A Rear Bar JDM Kouki Wing JDM S14 front lip (unpainted) Luxury Side Skirts JDM Style Rear Pods Front guards rolled and rear guards rolled and flared before respray (DT Panels) Spare boot painted matching car’s new colour Interior: HKB Boss Kit Key’s Racing Dished Steering Wheel Aftermarket head-unit (AUX input) All in all this is a very genuine car. I have many of the stock parts to go with it and rego is paid till late 2015. Interior is in extremely good condition and the car runs great. If I have forgotten anything I will add it later. The GT Wing is now sold and that is what the spare boot was for. Asking Price is: $15,000 as is $12,000 without AME rims and Shockworks suspension Please TXT me or call after hours and weekend inspections can be arranged. Car is located in Thornbury Victoria.

  9. Hi all, I have recently acquired an S14a that has quiet a few mods on it. But one thing that it doesn't have is gauges and having been caught out before with a drop in oil pressure resulting in buying a new engine I'm quiet keen on having a oil pressure gauge. But while I was searching for gauges, I came across a product from Defi called the Advance ZD. My question is does anybody have any expirence with them? Are they any good? Any feed back is welcome and appreciated

  12. My s14a build up

Hey guys, Since im spending most my time sitting on this site (instead of uni work lol) from now on thought id throw up my car and start a thread. Bought a shell about 3 months ago as a project and slowly started building it up over the next 2 months. This was my first proper build never having pulled an engine out before. I'll post more details of the build as soon as i have some more time. Plenty of blood, sweat, and tears pain haha really men dont cry, have been put into my new love. Makes me appreciate the car alot more building it up rather than buying one done, well worth the effort by the end and recommend others to give it a crack if you can then you'll know the feeling i have everytime you see it. Big thanks to some good mates who helped me along the way, my missus for putting up with my bitch'n when things didnt always work out and my bro for helping with costs when my broke student ass couldnt even afford bargain parts that popped up lol. 14. hi guys, im sure many others have asked this question before(i cant find any recent threads on it), but i have a Nissan Silvia S14a (1998) and the VCT ticks and rattles REALLY bad, it sounds like a turbo diesel when i drive it. usually only ticks on idle. ive replaced the solenoid.. but i dont know if its worth the 400-500 dollars on getting a new VCT cam gear, or is it possible to get adjustable cam gears and fit them to the stock cams... (i will make up for the power loss at a later date) otherwise.. what is the most cost efficient way of doing this.. im not too keen on buying second hand VCT gears (because it may be no better than the original) cheers.
  15. So i currently have Tein Super street coilovers in my S14a and there not height adjustable... (wtf why would you even make coilovers not height adjustable right?) However I have the EDFC for them. My question is. Does anyone know if the EDFC kit fits other branded coilovers such as BC or Ksport? Id rather not fork out 2+k for a better set of teins just for the height adjustable. I have heard though that BC is based off Teins and with slight modification the edfc will fit, does anyone know anything about this? Cheers
  16. Project Ranga s14

Hi all Probably time I started this build thread (yes loz you asked me to do it 6 months ago) I bought my s14 in December 2011. It had a few mods already done to it * body kit (hated that) * wheels (18" by 8.5" +35 I think they were) * FMIC * Boost bleed valve * 3" exhaust with centre muffler It had a few rough points i.e broken side skirt, rough as fark front bar. But was in otherwise good condition. My General goals for this car was to do Targa Tasmania due to spending alot of time down there and falling in love with the race. But to also have a fun streeter that I could smash out track days in. mods Since I've owned the car complete Re bushing of the car (every bush was replaced) Tien mono flex coils cusco rear strut bar nismo front strut bar DBA 3000 s14 discs NISMO power brace NISMO GT 1.5 way Pro LSD Carbon center dash surround (car came with broken ones) NISMO Extended wheel nuts (wank Factor) Nismo extended wheel studs Bride Euro max seats Z32 AFM (no longer run this) Current wheels (24/03/13) drift techs 17" by 9.5 + 20 rear with 275's 17" by 9" +15 fronts with 245's Haltech PS1000 Apexi Power Intake (don't recommend this had to do alot of work to it to make it work like it was supposed to) Oil Cooler with back mounted 6" thermo fan 52mm radiator with 2 12" thermo fans (no longer run clutch fan so much more space) GK Tech oil relocation kit Gk Tech deep dish wheel Gk Tech brake stopper R33 GTR front discs Gk Teck caliper extender Gk teck Bash Plate Gk Teck adjustable arms (all of them) Braided lines Defi water temp gauge Drift boost gauge drift oil temp gauge drift oil pressure gauge pos air fuel gauge car came with project Mu club racer pads all round (bendex ultimates while having good initial bite ended up de laminating on the track bit of an o f**k moment) behrman d1 gp pro spec full aero body kit -technora-type Full 6 point weld in cage RPM 6 point harnesses H.I.D's Parts to go on still Gk Tech extended diff cover big arse GT wing (only for track days) R33 GTR Brembo's GOD SR plates Now what about the Engine I can hear you saying. The Engine has been left to last for a reason, that being I wanted to make the car stop and turn before I screwed any power out of it. The plan for the engine is 350kw at the wheels running anti lag (yes I am very awear of what it does to valves and other bits) and generally being SIIICCCKKK. Also looking at running OS Gilken internals in my gear box. Why not go rb25 I hear people screaming. Targa do not allow you to run a different gearbox the gearbox must remain the standard casing with the internals open to be modified. Thats about it for now cant think of any other mods I've done to it theres probably a few. So here's some Pics for you all to look at
  17. Hey guys, I've got an unusual starting issue with my S14a. The video explains exactly what's going on: The issue started a week ago when 2 out of 5 tries, the engine turned over and started up. Now it doesn't do it at all. The starter simply makes a loud click noise when turning the key. Push starting the car is fine so it's definitely a starter motor / electrical issue. I checked the electricals (proper voltage, working relays etc), tested it all with a new odyssey battery from another car but no luck. So I decided to tap the starter motor with a hammer, and it started straight away. Awesome I thought, I'll just repair the starter so I pulled it out and took it down to the shop to be reconditioned. $200 later, it came back with a new brush box and brush bearing kit. Put the starter back in and it STILL WON'T START. The voltage that the starter sees when trying to crank is between 11.9V and 12.4V. The interesting thing that you can notice from the video is that the engine starts to turn over but then stops. It's as if the starter motor doesn't have enough power to turn the engine. Could it be that the auto electrician didn't fix the starter motor properly? What should have been done to it? They didn't touch the solenoid so could it be that? Oh and I tried hitting the reconditioned starter but no luck in that department. Any help would be great!! Thanks!
  18. Well I said I would write a build thread if I decided to mod my car any further so here we are being a poor uni student please don't expect to much from this thread and updates will probably be few and far between. Anyway back in 2011 someone crashed into my old Hyundai excel and I decided there was no better time to buy a better car than then and after a few months of hunting around i found a completely stock 1998 s14a only one older owner who had bought it new and had driven 85,000kms. The car was a blast never had a nice car till now and I was stoked. She stayed stock for a good 6 months until i decided that I wanted more grip so in went some HSD coilovers, alignment arms. After messing around with ride height and alignment for about a 2 weeks i bought a set of 17x8 inch rims off a mate and decided to run some wider tyres. With the height finished and alignment done I was pretty stoked and decided to leave the car as she was but after clocking the big 100,000kms the nagging for more power is getting stronger and I don't think she will stay like this for much longer. Above is the dyno run with only the gktech catback installed. Current Mods: HSD Coilovers Alignment arms Alpha M28 rims 17x8 +25
  19. Hi Guys. I know this is a bit strange but I'm trying to fit a set of skirts and was wondering if anyone had a couple of these clips (see pic) laying around they could send me!! Would make the job a lot simpler and cleaner I don't paying a few bucks for them and postage. Or if anyone knows where to buy them that would be great. thanks dan.
  20. My S14a, the blue poo

Hi all, ive had my car for about 2 yrs now so its about time I make a "build" thread! When I bought it, it was almost completely stock apart from S15 seats inside, 3" turbo back exhaust and R33 GTR rims! It has all the options sunroof, front aero, lsd etc. Also had "98000" on the clock which i now suspect is BS haha If anyones from SA feel free to have a chat! heres what it looked like when i got it.
  21. S14a/S15 question?

Hey guys, thought I would post what I'm going to be doing and what has been done to my 2007, 200xs s14a, hoping to get some light shed on my sutuation. Basic mods: Gt28rs disco Hybrid front mount Unknown fuel pump Stock s14 injectors Custom exhaust manifold (regular After market) custom dump pipe Apexi pod Apexi Power FC Apexi AVCR(boost control) Coil overs Bla bla, nothing special, when I bought the car it already had most of these mods and "supposedly" was Dyno tuned at 296rwhp. Making a very long story short, my engine now is 100% dead. (random peace of metal destroyed the inside no idea where it came from) I am now replacing it with an sr20det s15 engine with all my old mods such as turbo an manifold's ect. I have a few little things to go on such as 1000cc injectors, z32afm and a hks mushroom pod. A long with the gt28rs. I'm not really trying to chase big horse power, as this turbo from my experience loves to bake tyres witch is all I love to do anyways. I was hoping to get a "safe" tune around the same horse power(280-300), if anyone has had this turbo or a similar set up I would love to know a rough "safe" limit for this turbo an set up, and how much it could make. Thanks for the help!!
  22. Ok so i've been asked by a few people to do a build thread so here it is. Happy reading I remember seeing a green s14 series 2 cruisin around in my town waaay back in 2000, and ever since then i've always said once i get my shit together i'm going to get one. Well, my shit is together, and here is my beloved silvia's story. For the record, this is my first turbo car so since buying it i've learnt alot. Didnt really have much to do with cars before this one, ive had a few but never really mucked around with them like i have with this one. So back in 2010 around May whilst searchng on carsales for an s14, this little shiraz coloured rocketship jumped out at me... So i called up the owner and told him i want it, so i paid and he put it on a truck for me and about 2 weeks later my dad and I flew to townsville to drive it home (i didn't have a licence at the time so dad drove) this is it after i first got it registered with my plates slapped on it about 2 or 3 weeks after having it at home. The car ran very well, we were quite impressed with it on the trip home, drove it for 1000k's flawlessly. The old man was a bit scared of the highboost setting lol. The dyno sheet provided with the car said it had around 227kw atw, on somewhere around 20psi, Specs of car: Engine: Stock unopened s15 VCT sr20det Other Goodies: garrett 2876r .64 A/R and 4inch front housing stock injectors 370cc Malpassi fuel reg Hybrid front Mount Intercooler 3inch zaust from turbo back 4inch pod filter on custom alloy air pipe Microtech LT8 piggyback ecu Relocated Bosch coilpacks Bosch 984 fuel pump Stock Nissan Intank pump Alloy surge tank Oil catch can Custom alloy airbox Turbosmart Eboost Turbosmart v port Bov Didn't have a licence for the first 3 months of owning this car so it pretty much just sat around and every now and then me and mates would take it out for a drive, on this one particular night, maybe 4 weeks after having it home, me and a mate went out for a cruise, and i said lets go out of town so i can have a drive, i hadnt driven it yet not even once. So anyways, i get into the drivers seat, get the seating position right, adjust the steering wheel, push the clutch in and put it into first gear, slowly let the clutch out and take off then decide i wanna rip skids so i clutch kick it, then snap 2nd, them BAM! blew 2nd gear lol. So thats when i joined this very website and started looking for answers and options on what i can do to make it not happen again... Then i found the Z32 gearbox thread nigel created, and after about a week a user from here got onto me, he'd just stripped out his whole z32 conversion out of his s14 so i snapped that up, put it in and it was a bit of a f**k to be honest at first, it was very noisy, rattly, the gearbox was tappin the floor, the shifter hole needed to be cut out for it to fit properly, had no speedo, the gearstick rattled its ass out, oh man it was a f**king mess. So i started researching, found a little company called Alpha Omega down in sydney who'd basically JUST started doing the conversions, well, they weren't officially released yet but after a few emails i managed to get a short shift kit and a new shifter relocater from them, i already had a tail shaft and bellhousing adapter plate so i didnt end up getting the whole kit as much as i should of coz they are the ducks nutz. Anyways, me and a mate dropped the box, put the new shifter and relocator on and WOW! what an incredible difference. So quiet, such nice short shifts too and no slop. Awesome. I also got one of their speedo correctors, so i had that wired in and away i went. All good. pics: how the knob sat after box was first installed How it sat AFTER the alpha omega shit went in So a little amount of time went by and after starting to get comfy in the car and starting to throw it around a little bit i notice the diff was a little bit dangerous, sometimes you'd be hangin it out and all of a sudden it shoots off towards a gutter! The diff was pretty 2nd hand, so i hunted around for a diff for a week or so and found one on nengun for cheap, Nismo GT PRO 1.5 way lsd. So i bought that and bought new bearings and seals and redline diff oil and we pulled it apart and put it in. Had a bit of a head f**k on our hands when we first pulled the diff out as the half shafts were different lengths and wouldnt go in the diff, so we took one of them down to my mates work and spun off about 30mm on the lathe... I don't recommend this, as it wasnt a real tight fit and going around corners slowly it felt like the whole wheel was moving side to side lol but it worked untill i could organise a new shaft that would fit. Just needed another stock nissan s14 short shaft. pics
  23. Hello friends, I just imported an s14a '98 from United Kingdom to Sweden. I want to get a cluster gauge from Japan so it only shows km/h including the odometer. At the moment my cluster shows both km/h and mph, but the odometer shows miles. My question is now: Will a cluster from Japan works fine in my car and how will the odometer works? I really hope that you can help me, and sorry my foreign language - Johan
  24. G'day! How awesome is the S14a 200SX and the SR20DET!!! I'm an engineer from Adelaide with a 1997 S14a. Had one in Sydney around 2002, but was stolen by professional thieves. This one was from the country, owned by a 60 year old spirited woman for last 12 years. Has a Veilside kit, or more likely a copy. I've got my mechanic Larry to convert it from auto to manual (anyone want an auto conversion kit?). Had ongoing engine lack of power / running rough problems, but reckon just solved them with help from Factory Manual and computer (seems heated oxygen sensor). In engineering I've specialised in noise and vibrations (acoustics) for 15 years, so can provide insight and help in these areas. For example muffler acoustics and vibration and resonances are my thing. I've especially joined so I can write up the story of the difficult problem I've had with my S14a, in case it helps other SR20DET owners to track down their own problems. Cheers, Ben
